Spend a day at Coney Island

September 1st BIRTHDAY WEEKEND

Before college I had no complaints of the date of my birthday. It was the last weekend of summer and school never got in the way… until college. Enter the birthdays now spent welcoming the second week of each fall semester. RAGER. And as the icing on the cake, I’m now in the city each year and away from the Buff on my one special day.  BUT this past birthday I couldn’t really complain. T’was pretty solid after finding out I share September 1st with the one and only Amanda "Platinum" Elsner.

After our night out of celebrations (I’ll spare you of the impaired stories), we woke up the next morning to continue our birthday weekend with a beach side day at Coney Island.  I had been there before but only got to stay for about an hour or two.  This time we were able to spend the whole day there going on rides, having lunch, and relaxing beachside.

I really do love Coney Island and I will continue to go on the old and creaking rides, including that wooden rollercoaster that shakes you until your head wants to explode. A beach, a boardwalk, and a fair? I’m sold. Its not new and its not any different than the last time you went, but I think I like it because it continues to shock me how a simple 20 minute subway ride takes you so far from the busy city streets and nonstop skyscrapers.
