About Me

The name's Sarah McKinnon...

So, throughout these 20 years of my life thus far, I have come to realize that I am a complete and total homebody, which I can proudly say I am absolutely okay with.  Well, where might home be you ask?

Home is Buffalo, NY.

“We eat chicken wings, not 'Buffalo wings.' Its pop, not soda. Bison chip dip, La Nova Pizzeria, Aunt Rosie's Loganberry, and Ted's Hot Dogs are all too familiar. We have fake IDs at 15. Our bars don't close until 4am. Jim's steak out at 4 in the morning is calling it an ea......rly night. Driving in the snow not only comes naturally, it's fun. We start the weekends off right at Thursdays in the Square while enjoying beer, free music, and an interesting (to say the least) crowd. Dubbed by Dan Marino as "the meanest fans because no one actually wants to live here..." We love the Bills (no matter what) and accept that it takes 2-4 hours to get home from a game. Nothing closes in 3 feet of snow or -20 wind chills...In fact, that's how we prefer to tailgate. We can correctly pronounce, spell, and identify Chippewa, Scajaquada, Lackawanna, Cheektowaga, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Olean, Tonawanda and Gowanda without hesitation. We are 30 minutes from another country, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and even a few beaches. It's the second largest city in New York. I AM FROM BUFFALO, a drinking town with a sports problem, and damn proud of it.”

But good ol’ Buffalo gets benched at the start of every semester, as I am a 20-year-old fashion student living my dream in New York City.  For almost two years now I have been studying here at the Fashion Institute of Technology and have recently realized the ever growing list of things I want to do before leaving this amazing city.

SO with inspiration from the Sami Dines, I have compiled a list and created my very own New York City bucket list.  I invite you to virtually join me (and my city friends who will obviously be featured on the regs) along the way.

Also, I have always had a semi-secret passion for creative writing; so feel free to take a peak at my word spills tab, which features some daily thoughts and journaling.
